To help you get the most from your treatment, a little preparation beforehand is helpful.
Arrive with clean, makeup-free skin if possible.
This simply makes the start of your treatment quicker. If you do arrive wearing makeup, don’t worry – it will be removed as part of the cleansing routine.Wear comfortable clothing with a simple top underneath.
A vest or singlet-style top works best. This allows you to remove outer layers such as jumpers while keeping you comfortable, and helps ensure skincare products do not come into contact with your clothing during the treatment.Avoid active skincare products beforehand.
Please stop using retinoids, exfoliating acids (such as AHA/BHA), vitamin A products, or resurfacing treatments for at least 72 hours before your appointment. This helps minimise skin sensitivity and ensures your skin is in the best condition for microneedling. Please let me know about any recent skin treatments.
If you have recently had peels, microneedling, laser, or started new skincare products, please sure to mention this in your pre-treatment consultation so your treatment can be tailored safely. If you are unsure, please let me know so I can guide you.Relax and enjoy the experience.

Who is microneedling suitable for?
Microneedling can be a helpful treatment for women beginning to notice changes in their skin such as fine lines, reduced firmness, uneven texture or dullness. These changes often occur as natural collagen production slows with age or during hormonal shifts.
At Kerrie Hawkins Skin Clinic in Hull, microneedling is commonly chosen by women who want to strengthen and improve their skin without injectables. By stimulating the skin’s natural repair response, microneedling encourages new collagen production and gradual improvements in texture, firmness and overall skin quality.
Before treatment, your skin is assessed during a consultation to ensure microneedling is appropriate. If your skin barrier needs support first, we may recommend starting with a restorative facial before progressing to collagen-stimulating treatments.
